The Sims Mobile will be sunset on January 20, 2026, Electronic Arts has announced.
As of today (October 20), the game will be delisted from the Apple App Store and Google Play, and will no longer be available to download.
Players who already have the game installed or have previously downloaded it can still update and access the game.
All purchases made before the game is delisted will work in-game up until its sunset date.
Once The Sims Mobile is shuttered in January 2026, “it will no longer be playable and any leftover currency will not be eligible for a refund,” the developer said.
“The Sims Mobile and The Sims community as a whole are full of creativity, kindness, and imagination,” said EA. “You’ve amazed us with your stories, builds, and Sims. We’re proud to have shared this journey with you.”
Earlier this year, EA announced there would be no new content updates or events for The Sims Mobile, as Eurogamer notes. No reason was given for the decision to shutter the title.
The Sims Mobile is published by EA, and was initially developed by Maxis when it launched in 2018. Firemonkeys Studios took over from 2019 to 2020, followed by Slingshot Studio from 2020.
Firemonkeys Studio also develops The Sims FreePlay, a freemium version of The Sims for mobile.
