Web-based services across the world – including Fortnite, Roblox, PlayStation Network, and more, including major banks – are starting to cover after Amazon Web Services (AWS) went down earlier today.
AWS claims its services are showing “significant signs of recovery” after a DNS error took thousands of web-based businesses – about a third of the internet – offline, although it seems the sites, services, and apps running in the “US East 1 Region” were primarily affected.
After outages for most of the day, an update on the official Epic Games Status page now says: “The service provider outage is resolved and Fortnite is back online, alongside all other Epic services! Players should again be able to log-in and matchmake without issue.”
However, according to AWS’ own status page, the service remains flagged as “degraded.”
“Our mitigations to resolve launch failures for new EC2 instances continue to progress and we are seeing increased launches of new EC2 instances and decreasing networking connectivity issues in the US-EAST-1 Region,” the latest update reads.
