Finland-based co-developer Redhill Games has announced a restructuring program that will begin “in the near future.”
In a post shared on LinkedIn, the studio said the decision would “impact several of [its] talented colleagues.”
As Game Developer notes, the studio currently employs 70 workers in both Finland and Cyprus.
“We are committed to supporting them through this transition, and we encourage partners across the industry to reach out if you’re looking for exceptional talent,” it said.
“In the coming period, we will continue delivering our remaining work and ensure a smooth transition for the teams supporting multiple Supercell titles.”
The developer continued: “We are deeply grateful to our team, shareholders, and partners for their trust and support over the years. It was a great journey to launch our own free to play shooter, Nine to Five.
“After that it has been a privilege to contribute to iconic games enjoyed by millions, including Overwatch 2 and various unannounced projects.”
Redhill Games CEO Matias Myllyrinne also commented on the decision, writing in a separate post: “To all the amazing people who brought their talent, creativity, and heart into building this studio – thank you. It’s truly been an honor and a pleasure to work alongside you, through the highs and lows, and to build something meaningful together.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved, but even more proud of the character, resilience, and spirit of this team.”
Redhill Games was founded in 2018 by Myllyrinne, who was formerly CEO of Remedy, alongside Wargaming and Remedy technical director Mikko Uromo and Wargaming development director Milos Jerabek.
